Aurora(eilonwy)'s training has been going as well as could be hoped for. It's hard for her to pronounce the funny words in the book so when she utters the spells usually something goes wrong or the spell isn't complete. She's turned a horse into a pony when it was supposed to be a zebra, she's made an empty canvas into a painting when she was supposed to make it disappear, she turned the tapestries pink, making maleficent horrified, instead of turning them black. All Maleficent did was coldly reprimand her and didn't even say she did a good try. Everything was messing up. Perhaps Maleficent was giving her hard tasks. She started her off with the basics. Together they made a potion that could change a person into a frog.. A simple beginners potion, a spell every witch and dark fairy knew. If Aurora couldn't do this then Maleficent would abandon the idea and even the child. This wasn't the first child she had tried it with. Some became too powerful some were too weak. Either way she had their memories erased and sent to live with human parents. Aurora was child number 25, she had indeed just become a number. Maleficent barely called her by her name, she just called her child or sometimes would slip up and call her 25. Aurora never guessed why. But when the young girl succeeded in turning one of the minions into frogs, a perfect hopping green frog, Maleficent said good work. It had no love in it but Aurora took it all the same. Her mother had finally noticed her! She couldn't help herself, she gave her a big hug! Of course this caught the mistress of all evil by surprise. Never before had she been hugged, not even by the many children she trained. All had feared her much too much to do that. Aurora though her mother was lovely. Aurora could look past her black-hearted nature. That's what made her perfect. And then Aurora said, "I love you mommy." and maleficent had never heard that either! instead of becoming enraged and pushing her off she held the girl, patting her head. She couldn't say I love you back, not yet. But it was something. If the light touches the darkness it can either dispel it or make a shadow. Disney owns characters, I own my edit and creativity.
